The Officers and Executive Board of the Boston Carmens' Union Local 589
 are sworn into office at the December membership meeting.

New Executive Board Takes Office

1/29/08 - The Officers and Executive Board of the Boston Carmens' Union Local 589, including five new Board members, were sworn into office at the December membership meeting. ATU International Vice President Richard Murphy administered the oath of office to returning Officers and Delegates including President Steve MacDougall, Financial Secretary-Treasurer Mike Mastrocola, Recording Secretary John Clancy, Division 3 Delegate Jim O'Brien and Equipment/Maintenance Delegate John Burr. Taking the oath of office for the first time were Vice President John Lee, Assistant Secretary Peggy LaPaglia, Division 1 Delegate Terry Reed, Rapid Transit Delegate Larry Kelly, and Maintenance of Way Delegate Walter Novicki.

All Officers and Executive Board members offered remarks to the membership and retiring/ non-returning officers Jim Evers, Dan Burton and Kevin Connolly thanked the membership for their support. 

Joining the Officers and Delegates in taking the oath of office were over two dozen Local 589 Barn Captains, who represent the frontlines for the Union.
